Craving for something different? Make these hearty crepes for breakfast this weekend!

Ingredients

  • Cage free eggs : 2

  • Whole wheat flour :1 cup

  • 2% milk: 2 cups

  • Vanilla extract : 1 tsp

  • Canola oil : 1 tbsp

  • Sugar : 1 tbsp

  • Salt 1/4 tsp

  • Oil spray for frying ( I use avocado oil)

  • Sliced mixed berries and bananas

Steps

  • Mix the ingredients well( except the fruits and oil spray), preferably in a blender.

  • Heat a skillet well ( pro-tip: ensure it is very hot, use an cast iron skillet if possible).

  • Pour 3/4 ladles of the batter( more if needed, depending on size of skillet), spread evenly by tilting the skillet around.

  • Cook for about 1-2 minutes or till the edges are cooked. Flip and cook the other side.

  • Serve with fruits and enjoy! Skip the powdered sugar on top.

Total added sugar : 2.6 gm per crepe. ( that is 10% of daily allowance for women and 7% for men)

Protein: 4 gm per crepe

Fibre: 1.4 gm per crepe ( 5% of daily recommendations for women and 4% for men)

Saturated fat : 0.7 gm per crepe. ( That is 3% of recommended daily calories from saturated fat in a typical 2000 Calorie diet).
